Introduction
In the Philippines, we have many natural disasters or even man-made disasters occured. Prone to Natural Disasters like Typhoons(due to its location in the Western Pacific Typhoon Belt) and Earthquakes(as we're in the Pacific Ring of Fire). And Man-made disasters like Fire(Sunog), Oil Spill, and Armed Conflicts(like Zamboanga Siege in 2013 and Marawi City Conflict in 2017). Faith-Based Organizations play a crucial and widely recognized role in disaster response in the Philippines.
Organizations and Initiatives
Philippine Faith-based organizations Forum (FBO PH), a platform coordinates efforts among various Christian groups, including the Catholic, Protestant, and Evangelical churches, and is recognized by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA). Faith-based organizations (FBOs) are crucial to disaster response in the Philippines, acting as essential first responders and key partners to government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Catholic Organizations
Caritas Philippines/NASSA, a national social action arm of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), it works with local Caritas offices and dioceses to provide aid, often utilizing an "Adopt-a-Parish" strategy(Faith-Based Groups’ Role in Humanitarian Response Recognized, 2017). Catholic Relive Services(CRS), an international member of the Caritas confederation, CRS has been active in the Philippines since 1945, focusing on timely humanitarian assistance, disaster risk reduction, and peacebuilding activities.
Protestant and Non-Catholic Christian Ecumemical Organizations

Philippine Relief and Development Services, the relief and development arm of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC), it works with local churches in holistic ministries. United Methodist Committee on Relief, through the United Methodist Church's Area Disaster Management Offices (DMOs), UMCOR supports disaster preparedness, response, and recovery, including providing food and water to affected communities (Filipino United Methodists respond to triple disasters, 2024). International Care Ministries (ICM), Mobilizes its network of volunteer pastors for rapid aid distribution, particularly addressing food insecurity in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

CCF Ministries engages in a comprehensive approach to disaster response, which includes both immediate aid and long-term recovery efforts.
Non-Trinitarian Churches
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (often referred to as Mormons) plays an active and significant role in natural disaster response in the Philippines, providing immediate relief, shelter, and long-term recovery support. Their efforts are carried out in coordination with local government units and other humanitarian partners. Iglesia Ni Cristo, provides immediate relief through its "Lingap sa Mamamayan" (Aid to Humanity) program.
The Members Church of God International (MCGI) actively responds to natural disasters by providing immediate and ongoing humanitarian aid through its public service arm, MCGI Cares, and in partnership with UNTV News and Rescue. Their response is rooted in the biblical teaching of doing good works and helping those in need, regardless of affiliation.
The United Pentecostal Church in the Philippines (UPCI Philippines) engages in faith-based natural disaster response efforts that often involve praying for victims and directing support towards the recovery of affected communities and church facilities. They collaborate with other local and international partners for broader humanitarian aid efforts.
Jehovah's Witnesses provide a well-organized, faith-based disaster relief response in the Philippines, which includes providing physical, emotional, and spiritual aid to both their members and non-members.
